Southeast Asia

 

A trip to southeast Asia isn't just for backpackers ... although they do very well in this region. When it comes to luxury travel, this region rivals anywhere in the world.

Southeast Asia consists of eleven countries that reach from eastern India to China, and is generally divided into mainland and island zones. Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam are on the mainland and are actually an extension of the Asian continent.

Island Southeast Asia includes Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei, and East Timor.

 

In Thailand, from the bustling capital of Bangkok, to Chaing Rai and Chaing Mai in the north, and to the luscious islands in the south, Thailand is a welcoming and engaging destination. The friendly, always smiling and oh-so-polite Thai citizens (sawadika!) make travellers feel welcomed and appreciated.  Amazing tropical beaches, vibrant cities, ancient ruins, beautiful temples and lush jungles – Thailand really does have it all. By night, enjoy some of the best night clubs in Asia and by day relax on world-class tropical beaches or trek through jungles to remote hill-tribe villages.

Cambodia features hard living, welcoming and fun people, a mesmerizing topography and the famous ruins of Angkor – more than an item on a bucket list, but truly something that needs to be experienced, understood and dwelt upon.

Vietnam is a wondrous country, from the incredibly busy cities of Ho Chi Min and Hanoi to the rural areas of Sapa, Hoi An and the magnificent coastline.

Bali is always on traveller's bucket list, and for good cause. The Indonesian island is chock full of luxurious accommodations, colourful villages and the Balinese traditions are a delight to watch. Balinese architecture is copied around the world ... how nice it is to see the authentic originals!
